Selection of Lithium Battery

2022-03-10

Lithium batteries can be roughly divided into two categories: lithium metal batteries and lithium ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries do not contain lithium in metallic form and are rechargeable. The fifth generation of rechargeable batteries, lithium metal batteries, appeared in 1996, and compared with lithium-ion batteries, its safety, specific capacity, self-discharge rate and performance price have great advantages. Because of its own high technical requirements, only a few national companies can produce such lithium metal batteries.

Lithium polymer batteries mainly use lithium metal or lithium alloy as an anode material and apply a non-aqueous electrolyte solution to the battery. Because the chemical properties of lithium metal is very active, so the processing, storage and use of lithium metal on the environmental requirements are relatively high, resulting in lithium batteries have not been used for a long time.

Lithium polymer batteries are also called polymer batteries. Compared with lithium-ion batteries, the biggest difference in safety is that when the two batteries are heated to a certain level, lithium-ion batteries will explode, but lithium polymer batteries will only occur chemical volatilization, will not burn and will not explode.

In recent years, there has been a lot of news about lithium battery leaks and explosions, and several such accidents have occurred in different places. According to previous reports, a number of battery explosions have occurred in electric vehicles at home and abroad. Industry experts say that although the overall rate of battery accidents is one in 10 million, most of the accidents in 10 million are caused by the use of poor quality raw materials and crude production processes. The use of batteries is about the safety of everyone's life. So the choice of lithium batteries is very important, it is recommended to buy qualified manufacturers and code lithium battery products.
