About the life of lithium battery

2022-03-10

A primary measure of a Li-ion battery is the number of battery cycles, not the time or hours of use. A random charge is not a cycle. A battery cycle is when the battery is charged from 0% to 100% and discharged from 100% to 0%. This process does not require a complete charge and discharge, so you can also charge from 25% to 75% and then disconnect the charger and use from 75% to 50%, which represents 0.25 battery cycle. If you are using from 75% to 25%, this is 0.5 battery cycle.

The life of rechargeable lithium batteries is also closely related to the operating temperature. The variation in cycle time of the charge/discharge cycle system at different temperatures indicates that theoretically a higher rate battery will therefore have a lower life than a slightly lower rate battery.

The life of rechargeable batteries is also very detrimental due to different battery charge cycles and different charge/discharge depths.

Damage to the battery can also occur when charging is not done properly. Such as charging and discharging at high or low temperatures and connecting to power for a long time (which is also the main cause of battery bulge and expansion). In addition many people ignore, if the battery is kept low and not charged, it will also be very detrimental to the life of the battery.
